September 2017 - Here are some goodies I bought or received as a gift over the course of my travels in Summer 2017!

April 2016 - I went to Wichita, KS to shop and eat for four days.  (I used my two personal days at school to do this.) I wrote about it here.

Here are some groceries I bought and the scenarios in my head for them:  I bought the mango syrup to make spicy mango lemonade that I tried at Zaytun.  I bought the hazelnut syrup to put in my coffee.  I bought the tagine mix because I want to finally use my Le Creuset tagine that I bought 5 years ago. I bought the Cajun seasoning because I'm out of Penzey's and I'm too lazy to order it online. The Bragg's and the One Bite are for flavoring my go-to meals of baked chicken and kale salad.  I also imagine using the grill more this summer in the back yard.  Mango ginger sauce for that.  The chili lime seasoning is for margarita rims.  I'm learning to do this in Western Kansas.  The grapefruit jellies?  They're just delicious.

December, 2015 - I was inspired by my Mexican-American students this semester.  One of my students brought a flan to class and I loved it.  I'm going to make the French version: crème caramel.  I was also inspired by a trip to Root Down in Denver to make devils on horseback so I bought these peppadews in The Better Cheddar in Kansas City to make later.  I was further inspired by a student who made a presentation on boeuf bourguignon in class.  When I saw this seasoning mix I knew it would be a great meal in the new year.
