January 30, 2017 - The good people that I teach with got together and bought gifts and made food for a colleague Samantha and her husband who just had a baby. It was such a happy rush to take these gifts to them.
Christmas 2016 - Is there anything better than the holidays? I received so many wonderful food gifts from my family and friends. Below are some of the best! I am over the moon about the bitters, especially the earl grey flavor. Thank you, Mo!
August, 2016 - First day of school I received a package in the mail from my mom from The Caramel Factory in Batesville, MS. I love everything in that store and I made a cake with some of the icing I bought there in June. Mom sent me more!
August 2016 - Paul and I had a belated Bastille Day party the weekend between visiting the Rocky Mountains and starting back to school. The party was so much fun. Here's the party. And our guests were so generous. Jen Vierthaler brought over a French wine wrapped for the 4th of July. American on the outside and French on the inside, just like me!
August 2016 - Our friends Kerry and Laura Kuplic are from Green Bay, Wisconsin and they go home to visit for two weeks every summer. This trip they brought us back some treasures from Wisconsin!
July 2016 - For my birthday I got all kinds of great food and foodie gifts from my husband, mom, in-laws, and friends. Also, I'm crazy about this new cookbook The Southerner's Cookbook from Garden and Gun magazine. I want to make everything in this cookbook!
May 13, 2016 - Every year at the end of the school year I give my students an escargot shell in a bag with a few pieces of candy. It's a souvenir of French class to remind them to travel, to remember Madame Wilder, and to remember that eating another culture's weird food is part of becoming a world citizen.
April 2016 - My mom sent us a package to get us through the end of the school year. I love The Caramel Factory in Batesville, Mississippi. These chocolate turtles are delicious!!
April 2016 - Food gifts on this page aren't just gifts to me. They're also FROM me. I brought these gifts home from Wichita to my hubby because he loves aquavit (in his bloody marys and also with Coke) and he really loves the Beach Boys.
April 2016 - This came in the mail from my dear travel/foodie friend Stephanie. She moved to Charleston, SC from Memphis almost exactly a year after I moved to Dodge City from Memphis. I'm planning a visit for summer 2016 so she sent me these goodies to get ready!
We love hanging out with the Kuplics and we're discovering the treasures of living in the Wild West with them. They brought me this foodie gift from their spring break trip to Phoenix!
Christmas 2015 - My brother-in-law Mo lives in San Francisco and he always finds me the most awesome gifts. He is more foodie than me and I'm always excited to open his presents.
Christmas 2015 - Amy gave me these chocolates. The caramel ones are special because we both love Trader Joe's so much and fell in love with these chocolates the same year (along with everyone else in the world). The Frango is special because it is a symbol of all our trips to Chicago, specifically to the late Marshall Field's that had a whole room of Frango flavors.
Christmas 2015 - Paul's grandma who lives in Cleveland, Ohio sent us this basket of goodies in the mail!
Christmas Open House 2015 - Paul and I hosted an open house for his orchestras (jazz and symphony) and a very nice lady named Joanne gave us some homemade banana nut bread!
Thanksgiving 2015 - My in-laws and my mom made their way to Dodge City for Thanksgiving and I pulled out all the stops. My in-laws brought some holiday cheer in a bottle. This stuff is great in coffee or as a shooter.
November 1, 2015 - Stephanie Wilson is always getting me food gifts because she knows how much I love foodie anything. She brought these when we met up in Denver, CO for the weekend.

Halloween 2016 - I fixed up Halloween boxes for the neighbor's children because they're such sweet kids and their mom is always outside playing with them. These were fun to make.

July 14, 2015 - A very lovely couple, the Pyles, came to our July 14th celebration of France and America. They brought us this awesome bottle of wine!
July 5th, 2015 - I love my brother-in-law. He is such a foodie and always sends me the best birthday and Christmas gifts. Below are some California chocolates and a delicious shrub.
May 12, 2015 - Mrs. Ralph, the biology teacher I've been a long-term substitute for in Dodge City, Kansas gave me this food gift. It is homemade cookies and Peregrine coffee from Washington, D.C. She went to D.C. to meet President Obama because she is the Kansas Teacher of the Year for Kansas. These cookies are delicious! I can't wait to try this coffee!
Paul brought these wonderful treasures home from his trip to Montana and Glacier National Park. I have to find a way to get more of that Huckleberry BBQ sauce.
My last Valentine's Day teaching in Memphis some of my favorite students bought me Valentine candy. Jada Harper and the twins, you know who you are, and you know you are loved by this teacher.
