I love art museums.  I instantly feel calm as soon as I walk into an art museum.  It's church and a feast for the eyes.  I'm especially drawn to exhibits about food.  Food focused exhibits seem to be popping up everywhere.  I heard a podcast recently about a woman who was inspired to go to pastry school after falling in love with the art of Wayne Thiebaud.  I love to paint and hope to make some acrylic paintings of Thiebaud's work. 

​A few years ago I was visiting Chicago with my Parisian friend Alice Jehan.  It was a shopping and eating trip but we made time to go to the Art Institute of Chicago.  We were there the weekend before the Art and Appetite exhibit opened and I was heartbroken.  The gift store already had the art book for sale so I bought it as consolation.  It's a beautiful book.

I recently listened to a Food Seen podcast about The Modern Art Cookbook: Recipes and Food-Inspired Treasures from the Twentieth Century’s Greatest Creative Icons and I hope to buy it soon!  Cooking the recipes of the world's most famous artists sounds like a great summer project.
